Book
375 pages, 25 × 35 cm. More than 200 artworks and archival materials. A journey through an artist's life and work.
A bilingual Vietnamese–English publication tracing the life, creative practice, and legacy of Nguyễn Gia Trí — one of the defining figures of twentieth-century Vietnamese art.
Through carefully selected artworks, sketches, archival materials, and stories, the publication offers a deeper perspective on the artist who transformed Vietnamese lacquer from a traditional craft into a new artistic language.
The Deluxe Edition is strictly limited to only 20 copies worldwide; 10 in the US and 10 in Vietnam. The artist Yuroz created two etchings exclusively for this project, paying homage to the talent and style of Nguyễn Gia Trí. The second etching will be hand-coloured by Yuroz, making each one a unique piece of original art.
The presentation boxes also make this edition extra special. They are produced using the traditional Vietnamese lacquer process reminiscent of the technique used by Nguyễn Gia Trí himself. This provides a box with an expressive finish and featuring real gold. They will feature a spontaneous blend of multiple colours, creating unique flowing patterns. Because this effect is created naturally through the lacquering process, each Deluxe box will have its own one-of-a-kind appearance, making every piece unique.
Price bands. The edition is released in bands. As each band sells out the next opens, so the earliest copies are the least expensive.
